About Me

I have been involved with church music all my life. The posts I have held are listed below.

 

I have recently bought myself a digital organ because I have not had ready access to a good instrument for far too long! As I am now getting on in years I tend to be cautious about the kinds of engagement I can accept.

  • 1975 to 1977 Organist at St. Augustine’s, Woodston, Peterborough

  • 1977 to 1980 Organ Scholar at Bristol University and (thus) organist at St. Paul’s, Clifton

  • 1981 to 1985 Organist at Kettering United Reformed Church, Northamptonshire

  • 1985 to 1989 Organist at St. Mary’s, Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire

  • 1990 to 1992 Organist at St. Mary’s, Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire

  • 1994 to 2000 Organist & Choirmaster at All Hallows Wellingborough, Northamptonshire

  • 2001 to 2005 Organist at Holy Trinity Rothwell, Northamptonshire

  • 2005 to 2021 Director of Music at Maidwell Hall where I played at St. Mary’s, Maidwell for school services.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 1976 Associate of the Royal College of Organists

  • 1980 Fellow of the Royal College of Organists

  • 1980 BA (Hons) in Music from Bristol University

  • 1980 Acting Assistant Organist at Peterborough Cathedral for two weeks in June

  • 1981 PGCE (in Music teaching), Reading University

  • 1985 Fellow of the London College of Music

  • 1994 BSc. From the Open University (mainly) in Mathematics

  • 1994 I gave a recital on behalf of the Wellingborough Twinning Association in Wittlich, Germany in October
